Where We Work

HISTORIC
OLIVER

We have been partnering with the community of Oliver since before we were even incorporated.  Our first project included removing illegally dumped trash and distributing produce at the corner of N. Bond St. and Ellsworth St. Since then a lot has changed, but our commitment to Oliver remains strong.

In 2013 we established the Oliver Community Farm to serve as a meeting place for the community and offer opportunities for neighbors to increase their connection to the natural world and the food system. In October of 2022, the Oliver Community Farm was entered into the Baltimore Green Space land trust and will be protected as a green space in perpetuity.

The Oliver neighborhood is lucky to have several community associations and groups that are dedicated to serving the needs of the community. The Historic Oliver Community Association was founded in 1977 and is currently led by Pam Moore and Celena Owens. The People’s Association of Oliver Community, Inc. was established in 2021 and is currently led by Diane Williams and Audrey Carter.

The Community Group, Inc. is a neighborhood nonprofit founded in 2019 and works to empower youth and adults through mentorship and life skills training.

JOHNSTON SQUARE

After years of engagement in the Oliver community, we began our partnership with the Johnston Square community, starting with the revitalization of Henrietta Lacks Parks. Our commitment deepened through ongoing collaboration and numerous clean-up events, leading to our stewardship of several lots near Greenmount Cemetery's southern edge, adjacent to Hoffman Street. It was at this site in 2019 that we launched the Johnston Square Farm & Garden, an initiative aimed at cultivating both land and community.

The ReBuild Johnston Square Neighborhood Organization was founded in 2014 and is currently led by Regina Hammond.

BROADWAY
EAST

After years of building strong bonds with both the Oliver and Johnston Square neighborhoods, we expanded our operations to Broadway East. After recent vacant property demolitions left a full city block completely empty in the neighborhood, the community reached-out about partnering for the stewardship of that property. As a result of this new partnership we built the Broadway East Tree & Berry Farm in 2021.

The New Broadway East Community Association was established in 2015 and is currently led by Dr. Doris Minor-Terrell.

DARLEY PARK

T6B started working in Darley Park in 2015 with the building of Gateway Park at the corner of Harford Road and Normal Ave., transforming a full block that was once neglected into a twenty-first century playground and park.

The Darley Park Community Association is currently led by Pauline Charles.

EAST BALTIMORE MIDWAY

In 2022, T6B expanded our operations to the Midway Neighborhood by cleaning up an empty lot on the 1900 block of Kennedy Ave, next to North Ave. This location, in the Midway neighborhood, aligns with our mission to engage communities in revitalization efforts and is located very close to our Johnston Square Community Farm & Garden.

The Midway Community Development Coalition was established in 2019 and is currently led by Kathy Christian.

GAY STREET

Building on our deep-rooted involvement in the Oliver community, we naturally expanded our partnership to the neighboring Gay Street community in fall 2022, focusing on enhancing Faith Lane Park off N. Bond St., two blocks from the Oliver Community Farm.

Gay Street One community group is currently led by Renee Martin.
